At MSCC, we have two different aged classrooms: Pre-K (4-5 year olds), and the Saplings (3-4 year olds) classroom. The Pre-K class has no more than a 10:1 ratio; the Saplings classroom has no more than a 7:1 ratio, although our average ratio throughout the day is 5:1.
Both age groups share playground time and are integrated together in the afternoons. Your child will have one main teacher, but all teachers may look after your child, especially if they attend MSCC all day.
Curriculum
Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 year old)
In the Pre-K classroom, we follow Experience Education’s Mother Goose Time curriculum. We find that it offers a wide range of activities and experiences in the areas of Social Studies, Science, Literature, Art, Mathematics, and Physical Growth. In addition to our curriculum time, we offer lots of free play, whether inside or outside.
Saplings (3-4 year old):
The younger class follows the same themes as the Pre-K class, but the activities and projects are adjusted in order to be age appropriate. Along with an academically focused curriculum, the younger class is very focused on physical and emotional development.
